Hunting Daybreak

What is it about?

In the aftermath of a global solar flare that has decimated the human population and wreaked havoc on the world’s power grid, Dr. Riley Poole embarks on a treacherous 1,500-mile journey to learn the fate of her two youngest children. After making the heart-wrenching choice to leave her injured teenage daughter, Julia, in Virginia, Riley and her new husband, Coop, strike out into the wilderness toward Colorado.

Along the way, Riley and Coop get life-altering news and cross paths with old acquaintances and enemies. They soon learn that one member of their group has put them in grave danger, forcing them to stay one step ahead of a hostile, newly formed government. Will Riley have the wit and courage to survive and reunite her family in a world gone mad?

My thoughts

  • Great sequel. The way that the story progresses into bigger plots and stakes was phenomenal!
  • We learn more about other characters such as Vice President Kearns. We are also introduced to new characters. E.A. Chance definitely has a great grasp on character development.
  • Kept me guessing. I’ve been able to accurately guess what will happen next in most of the books that I read. This book was one of the few that I wasn’t able to do that, and I enjoyed the heck out of it!
  • It left me wanting more. Seriously, I need the next book!

If you would like to read my Reedsy Discovery review – which is more extensive- here is the link. There is a tipping option. Tip if you can, but I also appreciate kind comments.

Caring preschool teacher by day, crazy writer at night. I'm an aspiring author with ambitions wilder than my characters. I like to read, write and watch movies. I particularly like Shephan King and J.R.R. Tolkien. I'm also very fascinated by Psychology and Forensics. If you're into fun, creepy, crime puzzle fantasies, then I'm your girl!
